A hearing difference creates many challenges for students who are deaf or hard of hearing (DHH), and deaf education teams, including parents, can minimize these challenges.

In this session, parents will learn what students who are DHH need to be able to access the curriculum. Topics will include the impact of hearing difference on language development and academic success, types and degrees of hearing loss, Hearing Assistive Technology (HAT), deaf education team collaboration, and appropriate accommodations and strategies for students who are DHH.
